About Amerimex Mufflers & Brakes

Located at 1018 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435, Amerimex Mufflers & Brakes operates as an auto repair shop serving Joliet in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 8 am–6 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (815) 726-3400. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is amerimexmufflers.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 337 reviews, which is a strong result for an auto repair shop in Joliet and suggests consistent service.

Joliet is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Joliet follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Highly recommend! Fast service I came in on a Wednesday without an appointment. They fit me in right away and I was out within an hour for a fraction of what another mechanic wanted to charge. They cut out and replaced the mesh section of my exhaust to fix a crack in the pipe.

I had a great experience at this shop. I originally came in for muffler and brake work, but they also helped me with my mass airflow sensor/filter issue. The team was knowledgeable, honest, and took the time to explain what was going on with my car in a way that actually made sense. They didn’t try to upsell me on anything unnecessary, which I really appreciated. The service was quick, the pricing was fair, and my car is running so much better now. It’s hard to find mechanics you can trust, but I definitely feel confident coming back here. Highly recommend!

10/10! I’ve been to so many repair shops in Joliet/Plainfield. This Amerimex location on Plainfield Road is the best and the only place I will take my car to now, for really everything. They are very honest, understanding, and most importantly their work is top quality. First came a few months ago, needing major repairs done. They got me back on the road and my car in perfect condition by the next morning. Unfortunately got into a small incident with the same car a few months later, and they had my back and assured me I will be taken care of. Which they did!!! Amazing and kind staff, great pricing and TOP quality work. If you’re in need of any car work done, please come to this location. They will take care of you and get you back on the road. Overall 10/10 in every category!
